22 more days to the PPG’s 2nd anniversary in Govt!
If me was Brian Lara,  I woulda pre-action protocol myself at this stage and remove my name from the Cancer Centre and Tarouba stadium because things only going to get nastier and it’s his name that going to suffer and get muddied every single time. The government still trying to keep the lid on the over-radiation scandal of patients at the Cancer Centre named after you, and an Independent Senator has labelled it “one of the greatest scandals in medical history”. Trust me Brian, you don’t want your name continually mixed up with either of these structures/institutions…get out!

The AG smelling the 2-year anniversary coming up too and the coalition need legitimate things to celebrate…because how it go look that since The Keith bring that Motion of No Confidence that they in a constant tailspin….credit cards, Cheryl Miller, police brutality, escalating murder rate, crimes against women and children, 21st century non-policing, Vidwattie….Vidwattie….Anand hiring his nephew….Marlene Coudray….Vidwattie…Devant hiring Dookeran cousin….Jack winning internal elections….Vidwattie…Kamla carrying her nephew and niece to India and possibly the public paid for that too….nationwide protests in villages….Vidwattie…..TCL strike…..did I mention Kamla’s sister Vidwattie Newton having access to public funds without being an employee of the state?

Right, so in light of the many fiascos that plagues this government and by proxy our nation daily, the government had to try and appear to be doing something…how else to justify the government being a success and stronger than ever 2 years later than….bringing a civil case against Calder Hart? Now let me tell you why after reading the story this immediately became a non-issue for me….the case the state is bringing against Hart hinges on two crucial issues….mismanagement of public funds when it came to building the BC Lara Stadium (aka the Billion Dollar Tsunami Shelter) and the Legal Towers…..and failure to declare family ties….so, now, the Pantomime going to ask all yuh, when last anybody in this country pay a fine or make a jail for bad spending public money or for not declaring that the business they offering a tender to is really them and their family own? Anybody? study all yuh head good? If we used to jail people for bad spending and mismanaging people’s money then Duprey, Monteil and Bhoe Tewarie woulda make ah jail by now….so would Ish Galbaransingh and Steve Ferguson for what went on with the billion dollar airport….And….when last was it wrong in this government for you and your family to benefit from government contracts?

Folks, since 2010 Prakash Ramadhar and Vernon de Lima wave Sherrine Hart birth paper and imply that they have real info on Calder Hart….info that would prove he and Manning conspire to abuse and misuse UDECOTT funds…..and I waited patiently and eagerly for the information that would prove to me that Manning’s squandermania (remember that buzz word) would be proven beyond a doubt and I’d be able to wine back on PNM cronies…..to date ah cyah even do like Lyndira Ouditt and Timothy Hamel-Smith and take privileges and wine on Faris Al Rawi (sighhhh)!!! It is now 23 months later and the best this govt can come up with is a weak civil case that their supporters will slaver over in the hopes that the rest of the country will see that they performing! This civil case going to draw out….watch and see…..I giving it 15 years before it get thrown out for lack of evidence. And as for the criminal case the AG says the state is building with Malaysian authorities, keep your eyes and ears out for it….see if you hear anything about it again by the end of the year. If 23 months later they now dealing with it…you don’t think Hart had more than enough time to clean up anything that might be laying around to incriminate him? Study all yuh head good nah?

This government’s failure to adequately deal with the Calder Hart bogey, one of the biggest jumbies they waved for the people in May 2010 going to haunt them…watch and see.

And as per Hart’s link to his wife Sherrine and Sunway Construction…..look how much government minister have family who own companies that getting government contract….on the basis of its prevalence under this regime it not illegal at all….Hart simply practising Good Family Values KPB style!

For me, the biggest story in today’s papers is not Calder Hart, or Faris al Rawi, or the union threat to destabilise the coalition or Anil Roberts behaving like a disrespectful lout to his political leader…..rather it is a story almost buried in the Guardian that synopsising the Auditor General’s Report for 2011.

Folks read this report closely, because it is listing a number discrepancies in several ministries such as:

  • The Ministry of Education overpaying on 931 occasions to the tune of  $8.5m…..so after the first 5 times they couldn’t get it right? And according to the report this rend of overpaying happening since under Manning’s regime….over $41 million from 2005 – 2011….Hazel, Esthe and Tim, comments please?  The report also indicated a disturbing increase in the number of overpayments in the past year….whereas in 2010 there were 643 cases in 2011 it rose to 5280 times the Ministry over paid….that is more than a 100% increase. What Tim really doing with the Min of Ed budget?
  • In the Office of the Prime Minister (listed as Vidwattie Newton’s address for check collection and where the PM works…it is alleged) “signed formal service agreements were not produced for 50 per cent of the sample of contract officers. As a result, terms and conditions of employment for these officers were not determined, the report stated.” I hope all yuh reading!
  • In the ministry of Finance (Dooks ministry, eh), “the required cabinet minute approving posts were not seen for six people. Formal contracts were not produced for 31 of the 32 contract employees in the sample selected.”
  •  In the Ministry of Foreign Affairs “contracts were not produced for audit for two contractors for refurbishment works in which expenditure totalled $1.9 million.”
  • In the Ministry of Works, “only one of the 30 Overpayment Registers from the Pay Sections was produced for audit examination and therefore the number of cases of overpayments for the year in this sector, and other details could not have been verified”
  •  from a sample of 12 contract officers at Parliament, signed contract  agreements were not seen for 11, the report stated. Approved terms and conditions were not seen for seven officers. Approval from the Speaker of the House of Representatives was not seen for one officer. The report noted 44 cases of theft and losses of state property in 2011 totalling $1.3 million

Listen, is best all yuh go and read the full story and maybe find a copy of the Auditor General’s report, because what this pointing to is gross incompetence, breaches of protocol and mismanagement of public funds in at least 5 ministries…And this has led to wastage of public monies and if that is not Squandermania then I don’t know what is!

We back in full Elections 2010 mode with no poll booth in site! Un Confident Much?

If last night didn’t convince me that this People’s Partnership govt is visionless and desperate, then nothing will.

At the start of the week both Scott Drug Report Rambachan  and Kamla Rani announced that citizens had urged them to hold public meetings to discuss matters of national importance. Of course the Trinidad Express revealed that a group of citizens gathered at the PM’s home to petition against the route of the new proposed highway….maybe Rambachan misheard and then misquoted…because it certainly couldn’t be anything else.

So last night the Panchayat launched it’s series of talks….and it was a re-warmed, re-hashed taste of elections 2010 from a microwave that aint working properly.

Kamla Rani’s government booked prime time on all local television….a virtual media blitz….to trot out David Abdullah, Makandal Daaga, Ashworth Jack, Prakash Ramadhar and the Rani herself to remind us that we must be afraid of the PNM….doh put the PNM back there…We do real thing for all yuh….look old ppl could travel on bus and ferry for free…look we increase NIS…look…look…look….and you start to realise that the reason Kamla Rani’s speeches sound so desperate and out of touch is that she is desperately out of touch.
In a month where people had to come to terms with police raids on media houses, Integrity Commission meltdowns, suspicious crop duster rentals from an underperforming Commissioner of  Police, the murder toll climbing to 64 in 59 days, strike actions from unions, protest action from citizens about poor roads and facilities, the Prime Minister and her deck of Jokers delivered speeches that were beyond inappropriate. They were tasteless, full of sound and fury and nothing more.
It was clear from the get go that these men were all trotted out to assure the crowd….and it was a paltry crowd, you’d think in the heart of their support base the Rani would draw crowds larger than the roughly 3000 that was milling about, having trunk limes at the fence close to the roadway and by the time Kamla came onstage a significant number of supporters began walking home. Perhaps like me they too had hoped to hear something more substantial than Pri…oops Prakkash assure people that the partnership strong while he semi-imitated a Baptist Minister with the cadences of his speech…”I remember, I rememember, I remember….”  Prik….sorry, Prakash I remember when I had hoped that the COP would be the voice of reason in this coalition. I remember when I had faith that your party would be the even hand that would represent the voice of the people. Now, in a moment when you can levy public dissent into a bargaining position for your party in this partnership you instead choose to lick the Panchayat’s scrotums. All I can say is that voting for the COP after your display last night is like endorsing date rape!

When The rani eventually mounted the stage her refrain was little different. She reminded the crowd that the PNM was the real enemy…be afraid….be very afraid. Don’t vote them back in…our partnership is strong…stronger than ever….don’t forget squandermania….ANY OF THIS SOUNDING FAMILIAR? By 10 pm it occurred to me that it was the speeches of 2010 all dusted out and presented to the audience but managing this time to leave out crucial issues like Calder Hart, wiping out corruption and CRIME PLAN!!!!!!

And you see this is how I know that I naive….because if you put me in the same position as the Rani, I’d use these public meetings to discuss:

  • How I am going to enervate the economy
  • A detailed, point by point crime plan
  • a detailed plan about agriculture and food production
  • a detailed plan about economy diversification
  • a detailed plan about how to improve healthcare using energy subsidies
  • a detailed plan about how to improve our education system and the calibre of graduates we producing, again using funding from the energy sector.

However, to date….and is 21 months since the Panchayat in govt….there is NO CRIME PLAN and no ECONOMIC POLICY either. Kamla trumpeted last night that our economy is stable….after three years of 0 economic growth the economy is actually dead and needs a defribillator bad. This morning I read that the Indian economy is struggling and oil prices are part of the problem. I wonder where this Indian government likely to find oil to help it out, boy?

With rampant crime and a stagnant economy where exactly is this country going under the Panchayat? That is a question that the Rani cannot and won’t answer. She has no vision or mission beyond holding on desperately to power so that the rest of her small goal Cobo Squad can feast!

Last night Kamla reminded us about PNM Squandermania…this morning the Express reminded us that it’s been happening under the People’s Panchayat too. $60 m tax payer’s dollars to ketch and release 100 men!

The COP last night warned us to fear the PNM like a nightmare….yet it seems that our real nightmare is that we voted a Partnership into power that is filled with toothless hypocrites. This COP has sat by and looked on as the country flailed under poor governance and misstep after misstep and said nothing. Is this self same Ramadhar who first defended Reshmi’s appointment as SIA head then do a back pedal and said “I don’t know the woman.”

We still have two more nights of this farce to go. Tonight they go to Penal and Thursday night the Partnership’s Travelling Comedy Caravan pulls in at Diamondvale.
While they choke us to death with their disgusting rhetoric that lacks any sense, any focus, any plan, the CLICOGATE hearings continue to amaze and baffle us; and the TCL strike has begun to affect hardware suppliers, and possibly what’s left of the struggling construction industry here. Our principled fmr Principal is busy defending the Invader’s Bay Project. Why at every turn are we hearing about issues of transparency with projects? I thought we voted that out when we got rid of the PNM…didn’t Kamla  promise that?

If it were possible to point out how this government has fulfilled any of its 2010 election manifesto or it’s 120 day plan…..I’d give them a chance. But at every turn they lie and abuse the country and for that they will get nothing but scathing criticism from the Pantomime. Marsha and her minions better get ready to be very busy at this website! This isn’t a government I can have any Confidence in….and I don’t need Rowley’s PNM to tell me that!

Just when we thought our various statesmen and women had decided to tone down their behaviour in the public eye Fete to de I-Max gives us another reason to chatter.

Clearly the Gladys Gafoor Affair don’t have him hot and bothered enough.
The Errant Commish!Everybody and their Police service Commission bashing Commissioner Glibbs. But nobody want to actually fire him, because it cheaper to keep his incompetence around than to actual hire somebody else to do the job that he not doing…I hope that make sense to you, because it really fly over my head….kind of like an over priced crop duster!

Police Service Welfare head Ramesar wants Gibbs and Ewatski gone and I second, third, fourth and fifth that!

Weeks after the police raid Express and Newsday Professor Deosaran finally find he tongue and make a comment on the issue….I smell the favours that are being curried…All of a sudden questioning questioning Gibbs high on the agenda…but nobody want to Ask An& any questions and ACIB falls under his jursdiction….unless the Queen has already removed it!

On the Clicogate front it appears that the kidnapping and murder of Vindra Naipaul-Coolman put a halt to audit meetings at Clico. Now this cause my eyes to widen at how systems and procedures just seem to stall and stop short at Clico…..and now I beginning to wonder about the motivation behind Naipaul-Coolman’s kidnapping and murder!

While one end of the country embroiled in Clicogate, more trouble brewing in the energy and industry sector. The OWTU warns of strikes at TCL. But what have people more concerned is the TV6 report last night that Petrotrin as good as sold and the Government of Trinidad and Tobago refuses to discuss this issue with the OWTU or reveal their plans to the country. All that is known are that talks are in train and that a private consortium of businesses looking to buy it up. And Roget says the farm out will hurt the nation and has warned against it.

Does private consortium mean Friends and Family of the Govt and their cronies?
What will this mean for our energy subsidies and energy revenue?
Whose pocket is it going to fall into?
Why is the People’s Panchayat Govt so secretive about this deal?
Is the COP endorsing this nonsense and still pretending to be a patriotic party?
Is the Opposition PNM aware of this and turning a blind eye?

It look like the THA smarter than Trinis because they looking to put their house in order where this People’s Panchayat Govt is concerned. how on earth the central government could decide to ignore the THA’s role in running the island is beyond me, oui. Like Kamla Rani’s leather Louis Vs gone to she head!

Minister Vasant Bharath: didn't do anything but apologising and compensating anyway!And in other news that we not supposed to talk about because it might be slander…Minister of Agriculture Vasant Bharath has not admitted to driving over or mashing anyone’s corn….but he has admitted to making police reports, has said sorry (why, if you aint do nothing) and has agreed to settle out of court. Settle what, you might ask? Why, settle nothing…because he did nothing is not going to comment on anything because there is nothing to say anything about!
This government is real tears…not in a good way….the patrimony being squandered, the country and its citizenry being abused….De Vice Cyah Done!

In a move that has startled no one, Trinidad and Tobago has opted to ignore abstinence during Lent and the country going full steam ahead with Commess and Confusion for the next 40 days.

A 10 yr old murder has finally been brought to court,  and nobody resembling Sandy or living in a east-west corridor hotspot charged with it. I am confused. how to come to terms with this avunculicide? I feel like Hamlet should enter stage left!

Guns and ammo found on the port. But still no sting operation to catch the container owners….where we going with this?

Guns, drugs and ammo found in Bagatelle…interestingly enough it is alleged that army and police personnel does live on that street…hmmmm.

 

The police are saying that no one trying to cover up that Minister Vasant Bharath allegedly drove over a woman’s foot on Carnival Monday while he was allegedly intoxicated and allegedly drove off without checking to see if she ok. Well I feel I could write a Crime watch script after that sentence!

Police are saying that reports about them not turning up for Carnival duty are false….they were just late due to traffic jams and other things…..keep a straight face here, folks.

More pressure to buss pipe in we industrial sector. TCL workers looking to strike too! And Miss 5% all of a sudden more happy than Roget that OWTU workers get 9%….why you didn’t just offer them that in the first place if you so pro-labour?

Jearlean John say  the Colour Me Orange Revulsion is what causing the drop in crime…so I guess this is the Govt Crime Plan…..I wonder what would happen if they get different coloured jerseys to wear????

Things heating up in ClicoGate, we coming down to the wire now. In about 100 days the CoE will be over and we not sure de Govt will seize Clico assets and make them pay back the country the billions of dollars they get. But in the meantime abusive attorneys attacking witnesses will get boof! And Clico former corporate secretary say the the company never failed. Mr Leid, I sorry to disappoint you eh, but I feel that is the argument Duprey and them need to go with to get off scot free. Nobody getting jailed for mismanaging a parlour….but if we find out it had mischief is a different story!

And in Non-Integrity Commission news….Silk Man Reginald Armour  apparently didn’t realise that there’d a be a conflict of interest with him investigating Gladys de Badiss Gafoor and remaining as legal counsel to President Fete to de I-Max Richards. So now he has to step down…I wonder if he sought legal advice on it?

Well I swear like Bharath cyah catch a break….since Carnival Monday the gossip is he bounce down a woman and allegedly drive off until police chase him down and question him…hit and run, son?  Of course others are suggesting that the Pantomime should ask Anil. This one aint smelling nice! Because if this is a government dedicated to serving the citizenry then no government minister should set the example of hitting a citizen of the country and then driving off. It means that the minister is irresponsible and to him/her a citizen of this country is no more than a stray animal or roadkill! And let’s not even broach the issue of drinking and driving…

Well the Newsday come through with the story from the hit and run victim self….she is naming Bharath!

As the dust finally settles in town we hearing that it less police in town that we were led to believe. So all this talk about high police presence and then 2 days later we hearing many officers stayed away and several stabbings takes place…..GLIBBS????? What you have to say? No comment? Check Sgt Myster? And the irony is Gibbs well heaping praises over a situation that have citizens sceptical.

Winston Dookeran: remember when we thought him smart, competent, the voice of reason and a good person to entrust the economy too? Me neither!


Roughly 5 months after a national budget the People’s Panchayat go back to parliament asking for TT$2bn more and expect us to think they managing the economy well!
How come the highway to Pt, the HCU and Clico $$$ weren’t budgeted for last year?
None of those projects remotely new?
Now all of a sudden 2011′s economic outlook was peachy keen….what about 2012?
How is it possible that the world economy is failing and Dooks and Williams keep saying ours is stable?
Is stable a synonym for stagnant?
Prisoners riot to protect their sim cards and cell phones…
Let me get this straight..these men on murder charges and have cell phones and sim cards?
Why prison’s officers not being made to answer for this nonsense?
the prison system is a farce too?

Kamla’s decision to goar lagay seems to be a real bone of contention.
Defenders of the act are accusing Rowley’s PNM and the black population of having no traditions to speak of, hence their problem with the PM’s act.
My question remains constant though.
Was performing the goar lagay part of state policy or personal policy?
Was the PM representing herself in her private capacity or was she representing the nation of Trinidad and Tobago?
If the latter, what’s the state policy on greeting the heads of state of your host country?
The PM needs to remember that more important than scoring media points, is following state policy and properly representing the multicultural state that she is the political head of.
And what’s with Suruj Rambachan constantly referring to her as a “true daughter” of Indian soil?
Where was Kamla born?
Do we need to see her birthpaper now?
A child is beaten to death in Laventille by a male relative.
In the past fortnight there’s an increase in reports of child abuse.
Before that it was abuse against women.
Ours is a society sinking into barbarism.
The government lashes out at us
we lash out at ourselves
Retribution is our only justice system here
